TARGET 160727

CROWN FOUNTAIN

Located in Millennium Park, Crown Fountain is one of Chicago‘s most popular landmarks.

It’s made out of a very shallow black granite catch basin with a glass tower at each end. Each tower is able to "spit" water out into the pool - and onto anyone who might be wading there to cool off.

Each tower is 50 meters (164 feet) high. The fountain was built in 2004, at a cost of around 17 million dollars designed by Spanish artist Jaume Plensa,

The towers are covered with glass bricks, each with colored LEDs (Light emitting diodes) behind them. The sides and backs of the towers do not show faces, but glow at night in different colors in unison. The glass bricks on the front sides of the towers have video screens that act as pixels to form images of people's faces and, at times, scenes of nature.

In the warm season the Crown Fountain provides entertainment and a place to cool off, be in the open air and enjoy the warmth and water.

And it is especially fun for the children of the city who love getting soaked by the water coming out through the nozzles,

Crown Fountain is extremely popular among the residents of Chicago that come here to relax, enjoy themselves and have their pictures taken in hope that their face might end up on the fountain.

Many thanks to Teresa Frish for selecting this target for the Thursday night free webinars she holds on a monthly basis. We at PSI use the targets she selects on this day so viewers will not wind up getting two different targets with the same set of coordinates. You can sign up for these free webinars at her web page under the option, "Online Classes & Discussions". Videos of all of Teresa's webinars are available on YouTube
