TARGET 121121

THE MAIN CONCERT HALL OF
THE LUCERNE CONCERT AND CONGRESS BUILDING
IN LUCERNE, SWITZERLAND

The main hall
The main hall, prepared for the Lucerne "At the Piano" Festival

Lucern, Switzerland has one of the leading cultural schools in the world. It also provides a very beautiful and unique place to showcase leading talents, both established and upcoming. That place is the modern and beautiful "Culture and Congressional Center of Lucerne", or the "KKL", as it is more generally known, (the abbreviation of the German name for the building: Kultur- und Kongresszentrum Lucern).

While the building complex is vast and has many very astounding features, it is the grand Concert Hall that is the target for this viewing. The hall, by itself, is one of the many viewing targets this building offers.

The auditorium
The grand performance

Looking like some modern Roman Forum, the concert hall in Lucern, Switzerland has a stage surrounded by rows of people front and sides at stage level, and tier after tier of balcony seating, rising high above the stage.

The grand performance of the festival is held there in the spender of this unique auditorium.

Since the stage is completely surrounded, performers enter onto the stage from a panel
beneath the first tier, at the back of the stage.

NOTE TO VIEWERS: Knowing that different viewers will naturally focus in on what interests them about the many different activities that take place here, I have provided some feedback for the major ones. You do not need to have descriptors of all the events, any one or few is sufficient to show that you had site contact and found what interests you. If you do have a mixture of perceptions from different events, that is also no problem. Many viewers, moving back and forth in time, will perceive parts of the different events. It only shows that you have the ability to move through time at a site. It's a good thing.

Three festivals are held here each year:

The "Festival at Easter" (At Eastertime)
The "Festival in Summer" (late August-early September)
The "Festival at the Piano" (November)
It also hosts a myriad of other festivals and standard concert events, such as:

Drum & Bugle festival
Drum & Bugle festival
The Drum & Wind instrument festivals
Patriotic & religious music concerts
Classical, Patriotic & religious music concerts
Choral & orchestral concerts
Choral & orchestral concerts
Vocal artists

Political speeches to the nation
political debates

Conferences & conventions

And a myriad of other educational and entainment events

The most treasured is the festival at the piano
But some say that the most beloved event by the Swiss and visitors alike is the
"Festival at the Piano", where the artistry of the world's top pianists
show what wonders they, and the piano, can do.
