TARGET 101222

Sitting on Santa's Lap

Sitting on Santa's lap

Not even santa can be jolly all the time.

(The following is exerpted from a blog by Danielle Simmons on http://www.modernmom.com/blogs See the link below.)
".....somehow in the past few decades, it’s become an acceptable ritual for parents (at least those who observe Christmas and/or Santa) to encourage their children to sit on some strange man’s lap - a strange man dressed in red velvet, nonetheless - and force a smile while dozens of other little faces look at you in anticipation…or in some cases, fear."

Everyone cries

Sometimes the crying is contageous.

Mixed emotions

Sometimes, the job can have mixed emotions.

Nice job

Sometimes, the job can be quite nice.

Dogs

The job requires more than just working with people.

A Kodak moment

And sometimes the job is just too fantastic for words.

The end of the day

But by the end of the day, you realize that a whole year of making toys is easier than a single day in a shopping mall.

On another blogspot, Brian McKay wrote this advice for parents:

"First, do a dry run. You know, days before, give your child a glimpse of jolly ole St. Nick from a safe distance. When you come back for the actual photo, he'll be more familiar with what to expect. Second, carry supplies! Toys and snacks are key. If you're kid's hungry...well you know how that goes. Third, distract, put a piece of tape on your child's finger if he gets fidgety. Sometimes that's distracting enough that he'll forget Santa's even there. And finally, put his wish list on a piece of paper and have him hand it over to the jolly one. This places the attention on Santa, not on him!"

Dowsing map

There isn't a dowsing map for this target, because on Christmas, Santa is everywhere!
