The Bierfest in Munich is probably the most famous and long-standing party event in the world. in the course of the Festival, one million gallons of beer are consumed, and (one of their very prideful bits of trivia), the total length of the urinal “troughs” for the men added up to 2,575 feet. The data on the length of women’s urinals, is not given. Even drunk Germans have their ethics. On top of this, the insatiable 8 million visitors attending Oktoberfest (the name of the annual celebration) each year, reportedly, gobbled up 725,000 roast chickens; 320,000 pairs of grilled sausages; 65,000 pork knuckles, and - as if it wasn’t enough - 72 whole roasted oxen. No wonder they're all thirsty.

During the rest of the year, it is a meeting and dining place for locals and old-timers, many of whom have reserved tables. But during Oktoberfest, the huge tent-like structure, which stays up permanently throught the year, fills with party seekers and beer afficianados from all over the world. Trivia - The Oktoberfest always starts in September. Why? Well, I guess the beer just warms you up for the winter months to come.
