INDOOR KITE FLYING FESTIVAL
MARCH 24-26, 2006

This is Oregon's Only Indoor Kite Festival. It took place in Lincoln City, March 23-26, 2005. Yes, it's true. If you have the right kite and know how to do it, you can fly kites indoors without wind---and have great fun even if the weather outside is frightful!

So everyone can enjoy this great sport, Lincoln City is bringing expert indoor kite fliers from Washington and California to demonstrate the art and teach kids of all ages how to soar without wind.
Where: Taft High School - 3780 SE Spyglass Ridge Drive

Admission:
$1 for all four days of the festival.
($2 for a family of two adults and children and under.)
Another $1 gets you your own hand-made kite.
Once you have built your kite at a workshop (or brought one if you are so inclined), you can test fly it in the Commons.

Free windless flying space in the small gym is available to practice what the experts taught you. And they'll teach you for free at the times indicated in the schedule. You just need to get out on that floor and try.
Decorate your piece of the community arch (a huge bow-shaped line with hundreds of individual kites attached to it), which will be flown in the June Kite Festival at the D-River Wayside. Materials available in the Commons.

Take a look at flying kites indoors. It's really something to see. (You will need to have Windows Media Player on your computer.) To see the film clip, click here
